Ajanta group, the clockmaker from Saurashtra(Remember Ajanta Quartz wall clock that you used to get as wedding gift!) is building an Electric car named Orevo that could compete with Tata Nano in the pricing dept. This is probably the first 4 seater electric car in India after Bajaj’s Reva and if it is a success, then the craze for electric cars will catch on very soon in India. I hope it succeeds.

Update: It is just a clone of Flybo, the smart electric car, Says Anmol Chaturvedi. I would love a 4 door electric Nano-like car in India. It will be awesome, but a 2 door will make it just another Reva. Thanks Anmol for sharing the info.

Guys, all I can say is leave the man alone. He is a great entertainer and until he decides to enter politics it is a bad idea to push him into it. Think, is this the name of the party that you want – Desiya Dravida Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (DDMMK)? Please we already have tarnished images of Dravida Kazhagam parties, naming another party along the same lines will only mean it is no different from the other parties. Prajarajyam is a nice name describing Citizen’s Rule, Rajnirajyam doesn’t strike well!

With all the talks going on about spending less and saving more here is a little advice from an Average Joe. I am not an Analyst or anything, but my advice is to continue saving your money even when situations improve. Spending lavishly when everything is booming is not a good idea. Getting yourself into the credit card debt hole, buying $2000 handbags, Eating out for lunch and dinner at $10 or $20 a meal ( or even more??), buying designer clothes even if you are not a movie star is not a good thing to do even in a sound economy. The economy may be doing great, but if you cannot afford to buy what Tom Cruise bought then just don’t buy it!

Simple example is I eat outside once a week and not in a fancy restaurant. I have been doing that when the economy was great and do that even now. In my native language (Tamil) there is a saying “Praying the Sun god after you are blind” is how things are now. If you hadn’t spent more than what you could afford, you wouldn’t have been here in the first place.

So the lesson is, learn to live within your means no matter how the economy is. Remember, finding peace within yourself is the most important and find that peace with simple things that you have and that you can afford.

That’s right 300 million.  I am not being jealous or anything but is this a fair amount is my honest question. The reply that the CEO gave was:

The Consumers? or The Music Store? or The Record Labels? or Should it be equally borne! Whose responsibility is it? IMHO it is the Record label that needs to bare there responsibility of paying the artists, but in a way the cost also trickles down to the store and the consumers. So if the Royalty is increased from 9 Cents to 15 cents then may be the consumers should pay 1 Cent, Apple 1 Cent and Record Labels 4 Cents, that way every one is happy and the Record label is not. Well, the Record Labels are not going to be happy in any case, so why bother about them!

If there is a way to improve the efficiency of the solar panels then we can harness the full potential of sun’s rays. Efficiency is increased by ridding the panels off the heat that it generates due to exposure. Vinod Khosla, founder of Sun Microsystems is venturing into trying to build the panel that would be 2 times or even 3 times efficient to the ones currently available. It would be a big breakthrough in renewable energy.

Someone built a humongous train of Dominoes and tripped on it before finishing the build. No one knows where to put the barrier to stop the rest from falling! Hey, Cheaper gas though!

From now we have to officially use the phrase “National Shame” whenever one group of people in India attacks another one that they dislike at that moment. For a moment I thought the Govt. has run out of ideas on how to comment on such situations, but just then they get very creative!
